Why this goes wrong

What we usually find, and what we do instead

<p>Webcotec provides SEO services for Australian businesses that want stronger search visibility, cleaner website structure and better lead generation. We focus on technical SEO, page structure, keyword mapping, internal linking, metadata, local SEO signals and content improvements.</p>

What we usually find

  • Thin location pages — the same paragraph with the city name swapped, which Google treats as doorway pages.
  • Duplicate service pages — two or three of your own URLs competing against each other for one query.
  • No structured data — so no FAQ, breadcrumb or business rich results in the listing.
  • Titles cut off mid-word — in the search result, which quietly kills your click-through rate.
  • Reports full of rankings — for keywords nobody in Australia actually searches.

What we do instead

  • Consolidate and redirect — fewer, stronger pages that each answer one real search properly.
  • Fix the crawl first — indexing, canonicals, sitemaps and speed. Content comes after that.
  • Build genuine local signals — Google Business Profile, real citations, honest service-area content.
  • Write for commercial intent — the cost, comparison and “near me” queries that actually convert.
  • Report on enquiries — and the queries that produced them, not vanity positions.
What's included

What we actually work on

Not a checklist of 200 "optimisations". These are the things that move the result.

Technical SEO

Crawlability, indexing, canonical tags, redirect chains, XML sitemaps and robots directives. The foundations Google needs before any content work counts for anything.

Local SEO

Google Business Profile optimisation, Australian citation consistency, service-area structure and a review flow. This is what moves you into the map pack.

Content & intent mapping

Every target query assigned to one page, so your own URLs stop competing. Written for Australian buyers, in language a human would actually use.

Core Web Vitals

LCP, INP and CLS measured on real mobile devices on Australian connections, then fixed at the cause rather than hidden behind a caching plugin.

Internal linking & authority

A deliberate internal link structure, plus links earned through genuine Australian industry publications and partnerships. No PBNs, no bought links.

Tracking & reporting

Conversion events for forms, calls and emails, reconciled between Search Console and GA4, reported against enquiries rather than impressions.

How we work

A sequence, not a black box

You see the plan before we touch anything, and you approve what gets done.

01

Audit

Full technical crawl, keyword and intent map, competitor gap analysis. You get the findings in writing whether or not you continue with us.

02

Fix

Technical issues first — indexing, speed, structure, schema. This is where most of the early movement comes from.

03

Build

Content and pages against the intent map, written for Australian buyers and linked into a deliberate structure.

04

Earn

Local signals, genuine citations and Australian digital PR. Slow, legitimate authority rather than a link package.

05

Measure

Monthly reporting on enquiries and the queries driving them, with next month’s priorities agreed on the call.

FAQ

Questions Australian businesses ask about SEO

How much does SEO cost in Australia?

A one-off technical audit starts around $1,800 ex GST. Ongoing retainers typically run $2,500 to $4,500 per month depending on how competitive your market is and how much content is needed. Anyone quoting a few hundred dollars a month is selling automated reports, not work.

How long before we see results?

Technical fixes can show movement in Search Console within four to six weeks. Competitive commercial rankings realistically take four to nine months of consistent work. Any agency guaranteeing page one in 30 days is either targeting keywords nobody searches or doing something that will cost you later.

Do you lock us into a contract?

No. Retainers are month to month. You own the Search Console, Analytics, Google Business Profile and hosting accounts in your own name from day one, so if you leave, nothing is held hostage.

Can you do SEO for a business outside the capital cities?

Yes. We work remotely with businesses across Australia including regional New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia. Regional markets are often less competitive, so the same budget goes considerably further.

Do you build links?

We earn them, through genuine Australian digital PR, industry directories, partner mentions and content worth citing. We do not buy links or use private blog networks. That works for a while and then it does not, and recovering from a manual action costs far more than doing it properly.

What if we already have an agency?

We can run an independent audit and tell you plainly whether the work being done is sound. Sometimes it is and you simply need patience. Sometimes it is thin pages and bought links, and you need to know that now rather than in a year.

Will you need access to our website?

Yes, for on-page and technical work we need CMS or hosting access, plus Search Console and GA4. Anything structural is done on a staging copy first and nothing goes live without your sign-off.

What happens if we stop?

The work already done stays on your site and keeps working. Rankings typically hold for a while, then decline as competitors keep publishing. There is no switch we flip that undoes anything.
